What’s more quintessential when you’re visiting one of the largest and deepest lakes in the northwest than sailing across the lake under the bright sun with a light wind blowing in your face. That’s exactly what our Weekend Getaways crew did. I personally had never sailed before but lucky for me Macdonald’s Hudson Bay Resort offers lessons so you can head out on the lake with confidence, and more importantly someone to guide your way. Sailing on Lake Pend Oreille is equally exciting and incredibly peaceful. You really can gather a lot of speed and get a rush ripping across the water! It was also great to slowly meander along the shoreline. Whether you’re a sailing enthusiast or brand new, this is a great way to enjoy a day on the lake.
